Hudson Valley Credit Union is dedicated to helping everyone in our community build a financially successful future. The more you know, the better your decisions can be, so we’re here with the expertise you need to understand the options that work best for you. Whether you’re ready to open your first checking account, need to know the ins and outs of mortgages, or are planning for a comfortable retirement, our financial wellness programs provide a wealth of information for all ages. We offer personalized financial literacy seminars taught by our staff, financial education tools for teachers, as well as online tools for members to learn on their own. To help our young members get a head start, we also offer scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
Community Classes
Individuals and communities are empowered by financial wellness. Our team visits schools and community organizations to offer on-site financial literacy workshops and seminars at no cost. We work with each group to customize the topics they need for their audience, and have staff from across the credit union who share their expertise to make learning easy and fun. In-person, virtual, day and evening classes can be arranged as needed.
Tools for Teachers
The Credit Union works with financial education partners Banzai and EverFi to provide teachers with exciting and relevant in-class and online tools to encourage a healthy financial lifestyle for middle and high schoolers. Both courses offer teachers in-class and online options to keep students engaged by providing real-life examples of budgeting, spending wisely, and living within your means.

BALANCE Financial Fitness Program
Hudson Valley partners with BALANCE, a free program that helps members manage their finances responsibly. BALANCE offers confidential financial counseling as well as online educational modules in both English and Spanish that you can view at your own convenience.
Scholarship Opportunities
The cost of higher education is a concern for every student. While loans are helpful, nothing beats free money. We offer scholarship programs and tools to help further higher education opportunities for members, including the New York Credit Union Association Annual Scholarship contest.
