We are very excited to announce that the New York State Department of Financial Services has approved our request to convert to a New York state-chartered credit union. As of October 1, 2019, we will officially begin doing business as Hudson Valley Credit Union.
While our service area has expanded to encompass Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Albany, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties, the expansion does not affect current members, nor your accounts with us. Since we will be retaining our Federal Insurance through the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), all your accounts will continue to be insured in the same fashion as well.
Though existing members will see no changes, we’re very excited about the prospect of serving even more of our New York friends and family. While we review our branch and ATM expansion options, these new members will still be able to take advantage of all the technology and self-service options we offer through Internet and Mobile Banking, our fee-free ATM Network with over 82,000 locations, and of course our Contact Center staff who are available by phone, email, and live chat.
We believe this change will have a powerful, positive effect on our future growth, and we want to thank all our members for your continued support of our financial cooperative. Please share the good news with your friends and family who live or work in our new Counties; we look forward to serving them, too!
Sincerely,

Noreen Hennessy
