HVCU will open a branch at 851 New Loudon Road in Latham, New York, during the summer of 2024. Pending regulatory approval, the location will offer immediate branch access for our members in that area.
“This is a great opportunity to utilize an existing building as our first branch in the Capital Region,” said Chief Banking Officer Rick Lionhood. “The location will offer our current members greater convenience as well as the opportunity for our staff to help even more New Yorkers improve their financial wellness.”
The credit union will also provide a $5,000 grant to the United Way of the Greater Capital Region, specifically for programs serving the Latham area in celebration of this new location. “Our financial cooperative has always understood the importance of supporting the communities we serve,” he said. “We look forward to working with the United Way and other local partners in the Capital Region.”

Opening a location in the Capital Region has been part of our strategic plan for some time. We remain a strong, financially stable cooperative as we grow, and when the opportunity arose to lease an existing location, we took advantage of a way to open a location quickly.
851 New Loudon Road is in a retail center, which includes a large grocery store. On a main thoroughfare in Latham, this location will be convenient for many in the area.
We expect the branch to open during the summer of 2024.
