HVCU membership helps you save, borrow, and manage your finances with sensibility. We put in effort to ensure that you are well informed so that we can deliver an exceptional banking experience. There are three ways you can join Hudson Valley Credit Union to take advantage of all our great financial products:

I live in CT, MA, NJ, NY, PA, or VT.
You can join through the HVCU Charitable Foundation, which impacts innovative community programs that make education, food, healthcare, and housing more affordable, accessible, and equitable for all.
As a certified 501(c)(3) organization, the HVCU Charitable Foundation provides meaningful funding to nonprofits whose programs and services support education, food, health, and housing for all.
HVCU will sign you up during the membership application process and cover your membership fee1

I am an immediate family member or reside with a current HVCU member.
OR
I am an HVCU employee.
Immediate family members include spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, grandchild, step, foster and adoptive relationships. In addition, persons living in the same residence of an existing member who create a single economic unit are also eligible.

There are three ways you can become a member of Hudson Valley Credit Union to take advantage of all our great financial products:
- Join through the HVCU Charitable Foundation.
- Qualify as an immediate family member of an HVCU member, reside with a HVCU member, or work as an HVCU employee.
- Become an affiliated member of the Community Impact Fund or American Consumer Council.

Please note: If you are opening a Teen Checking Account or College Savings Account for a minor who is not already an HVCU member, select No when answering the question that asks if you are currently a member.

You will need one of the following ID Types to open a personal account online:
- State Driver's License
- Passport
- Military ID
- Permanent Resident Card (I-551)
- Employee Authorization Card (I-766)

To qualify for a Hudson Valley Credit Union account, you MUST live, work, worship, volunteer, or attend school in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Saratoga, Schenectady, Sullivan, Ulster, or Westchester County.
Business Accounts
To open a new business account, please complete our contact form. A representative will reach out to you and assist with opening your account. If you are an existing business member and would like to open an additional account, please schedule an appointment at a branch near you.
Do you currently have a Hudson Valley Credit Union Account?
New Members: Businesses located in, businesses who conduct the majority of their business within, and business owners who live, work, worship, attend school, or volunteer in HVCU’s 12-county field of membership are eligible for business accounts. To establish membership and open an account, please complete our contact form and a representative will reach out to you.
Our 12-county field of membership includes Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Saratoga, Schenectady, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester Counties.
Existing Members: If you’re an existing member, please schedule an appointment at a branch that is convenient for you.

You'll need the following documentation to open a business account:
- Your Social Security Number or Business Tax ID
- Legal business name and DBA (“doing business as”) name
- Date of establishment
- Personal identification, such as a Driver’s License or passport
- Certificate of assumed name
- Business formation documents
- Ownership agreements
