Exciting Card Management Enhancements Arriving March 10!
Great news — managing the security of your HVCU Visa Debit and Credit Cards is about to get even easier and more powerful. We’re rolling out an upgraded Card Management experience packed with new options to help you stay in control and customize your cards the way you want.
Take a look at the enhanced controls and alerts you’ll be able to use as soon as the upgrade goes live. You’ll continue to access these tools via the Card Management & Rewards option from the Card Mgmt & Acct Monitoring menu within Internet Banking and Mobile Banking.
Available Card Controls
- Card Status Control- Turn your card On or Off at any time to block or unblock new transactions.
- Merchant Type Controls- Block or allow purchases from specific merchant categories (e.g., travel, retail, restaurants).
- Transaction Type Controls-Manage which transaction types are permitted on your card. You can block or allow individual types and choose whether to receive alerts for each one.
Available Card Alerts
- Transaction Limit Alerts- Notifies you when a purchase exceeds the spending limit you’ve set.
- Merchant Type Alerts– Alerts you when your card is used at specific merchant categories (e.g., travel, retail, restaurants).
- Transaction Type Alerts– Notifies you when your card is used for specific types of transactions, such as online purchases or ATM withdrawals.
Impact On Current Card Management Settings and Alerts
As part of our upgrade to the new Card Management experience, your existing card settings will move with you. Here’s what to expect:
Existing Card Unblock/Block Controls
Your current card statuses will remain exactly as you have them set today:
- Cards that are Unblocked at the time of migration will remain Unblocked
- Cards that are Blocked at the time of migration will remain Blocked
Existing Transaction Alerts
If you previously enabled transaction alerts—whether for all purchases or only for certain dollar amounts—your alerts will automatically switch to On with the upgrade so that you have no disruption in your notifications.
- After the upgrade, you will receive alerts for all transactions. To modify your alerts, please log into Internet Banking or Mobile Banking and access the Card Management & Rewards option from the Card Mgmt & Acct Monitoring menu.
- With new alert options available, we recommend reviewing and updating your alert preferences after March 10 to match your needs. You can customize your alerts at any time.
Scheduled Maintenance Notice
The existing Card Management and Rewards features will be temporarily unavailable from 4:30 PM ET on March 9, 2026 through 8:00 AM ET on March 10, 2026.
During this maintenance window, you will not be able to:
- Block or unblock card status
- Modify alerts
- View or manage HVCU Rewards! information
Additionally, please note:
- This upgrade does not impact your ability to use your cards, and you’ll still be able to use your cards for purchases, etc.
- You’ll continue to receive any existing alerts you have set up without interruption.
