For nearly 150 years, people have relied on wire transfers to securely send money to friends, family, and businesses around the world. While digital advancements have provided new ways to send money faster, wire transfers are often viewed as a safer and more secure option, especially when it comes to larger transactions.

Benefits of Using Wire Transfers

  1. Safety and security: All wire transfers are reviewed and approved by someone at the credit union. This helps ensure that your transaction is safe, and could prevent your money from falling into the hands of a scammer.
  2. Global reach: Wire transfers can be sent and received to virtually anyone around the world, in real time. Most of the major domestic financial institutions have relationships with international institutions that allow fund transfers to be easily received.
  3. Convenience: Unlike other payment methods such as checks that could take days to receive, wire payments are sent and received in real time. This allows the receiving party to use their money much more quickly.
HVCU members can request domestic wire transfers up to $10,000 from their personal accounts directly through Internet Banking or our Mobile Banking app. Learn more about making a wire transfers on your own whenever it’s needed.
